Just a personal place to ramble about different things going on in and around me. My life in a nutshell.
Why Does Everyone Do This?

As I mentioned in my journal entry, I have tons of blogs online, and I keep up with all of them pretty well. Though I DO forget a couple now and then. I have journals at greatest journal, my own journal, blogdrive and xanga, just to name a few. I enjoy writing, obviously, and I get this odd pleasure when I think of the fact that there are complete strangers reading my entries. The fact that there are hundreds of blogs on the internet to choose from, a lot of them (like this one) completely free, it's no wonder that it's become such a huge internet industry. Gone are the days of the little hard backed diary with a key that you kept hidden from your little brother/sister (though they always found it and showed it to their friends). Now we're definitely more outspoken. We don't care WHO sees that we messed up on our exams, that John would rather have Sue, and that we aren't as perfect as our friends would like to think. This is the best attention getter in the world. I mean, my GOD, there are thousands of people out there signing up and just writing whatever's on their mind. Writing where others can come in and comment on their thoughts and ideas. Some starting a little drama, some just giving helpful advice, some lookie-loos that troll and just like reading. Different people, different reactions. There are blogging communities, where you can sign up and talk about one particular topic with people from all over the world, bringing strangers together with common interests. It's a great tool to use with friends or family that you don't talk to as often as you like, they can just check out your blog to see what you're up to. I don't know who came up with this idea in the first place, but I (along with many others, I'm sure) have to say that it's probably the best way to communicate on the internet. Viva La Blog!
